Wind Farms open their gates to the public

There are nearly 100 wind farms across Australia, generating clean energy for Australian businesses and households and strengthening the social and economic fabric of regional Australia.

But have you ever seen a wind turbine up close?

You'll have an opportunity on October 21 when wind farms in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia open their gates to the public. At this stage, wind farms opening on the day are:

  • Woodlawn Wind Farm, NSW
  • White Rock Wind Farm, NSW
  • Sapphire Wind Farm, NSW
  • Hallett Wind Farms, SA
  • Bald Hills Wind Farm, VIC
  • Cape Nelson South Wind Farm, VIC
  • Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm, VIC
  • Salt Creek Wind Farm, VIC
  • Mumbida Wind Farm, WA

We're delighted to be working with the Clean Energy Council and wind farm operators to give you a chance to get up close and personal with these mighty, clean energy powerhouses.

If you're interested in helping explain wind energy to the wider community, you could be part of an AWA stall on the day. Drop us an email to express your interest.

Find out more about what's happening and come along and see for yourself!
